Project Details

Client:
Press Association Training / www.becomeareporter.co.uk
Situation:

Press Association Training (visit their main site) is the leading provider of journalism and media training in the UK. We were absolutely delighted when they approached us to design and build a promotional website to boost applications for their prestigious Foundation Course for young journalists.

Lesser competitors had more appealing websites to the target audience of young graduates so it was essential that the website was designed with that group in mind. Press Association Training were particularly keen to promote the multimedia and online aspects of the course, so the resulting website had to contain interactive multimedia elements, without distracting from the main message.

Outcome:

We first built a basic working website prototype, allowing the client to see clearly how the website would work. We then proceeded with visual design – our first attempts were, frankly, a little too funky/edgy, so we regrouped to create a design that looked fresh, young and modern, whilst maintaining a broader appeal and reflecting the quality of the course itself.

The resulting site makes great use of testimonial from previous successful students. It’s easy to use, and focuses clearly on the main objective – driving applications from interested budding journalists. We’re delighted with the site and are overjoyed that Press Association Training feel the same! We thoroughly enjoyed becoming a part of their team for this project.

Cannot recommend highly enough

I cannot recommend Dave and the team at Definition Design highly enough. From start to finish they made a real effort to understand our business, interpret my vague ideas and turn them into something that made sense.

We were consulted along the way and given the chance to make amendments when required and now have a well-presented site which is simple to maintain and is absolutely fit for purpose. Please pass on our thanks to your team.
